Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Good Morning Everyone !
So this morning I woke up to Cory telling me "the dogs went to the bathroom AND there's snow on the ground" .... Half of my expected it to be melted by the time I actually got out of bed, but of course I was crazy! I think this time it's here to stay, which only means I now have to teach my Cold Weather Whimpy Pug that snow isn't going to kill her and I have to leave at least 10 minutes earlier to work just so I'm not late. BUT it also means only a few more weeks and Cory Martin, Molly, and I will all be home TOGETHER for Chrismas this year! The thought alone actually puts tears to my eyes!!! I miss home and I miss my family and I REALLLY miss these two little munchkins!

Cute right :) little do they know, I might Have spoiled them a little this year :)

So as we get closer to Thanksgiving all of us start thinking about all the things we're Thankful for, and sadly a lot of people can't seem to think of a single thing and are just completely bitter about the whole holiday season, and I'm starting to find these people more and more at work. A friend reminded me lately that no matter how bad you think things may be alway remember they could be worse. Personally I feel I have more than ever to be Thankful for this year and I can't even begin to describe how excited I am for this holiday season! So for those of you who are unsure of what you have to be Thankful for, I'd like you to read this status of a friend of mine who works for the Government and helps supply for those who are less fortunate than us :
listening to christmas music and then i receive a phone call about someone complaining that they got a chicken and not a turkey and it made me think of this "Nothing has turned out as we expected! It never does. Life's under no obligation to give us what we expect. We take what we get and are thankful it's no worse than it is.” It makes me realize to just be happy for what i have!!

The quote says it all... Even those who are going this Holiday season with missing family members, deployed loved ones, or sick. Just remember it could always be worse, the ones who are missing ( by death) are in a far better place than we can ever imagin, they are no longer hurting or in pain, they are at rest enjoying the holidays with someone we could all only wish we got to spend it with... The lord. Those who are deployed are still alive, they may not be here but keep in mind they wish they were, do what you can to make them feel as much at home as possible, skype with them with the whole family around, becuase many of them haven't seen your loved one in months and visual proof they are doing ok sometimes is what family needs. Believe it or not there are soldiers who have NO ONE to talk to during the holidays. BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE, so many others have NOTHING! Not even a roof over their head let alone enough food to keep them full for weeks on end.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

Bananas + Peanut Butter+VIshake+ Honey.... AMAZING!

Hey All!
So the last two mornings have been pretty stinkin good! Yesterday I started off my morning with an amazing apple peanut butter smoothie with just a little cinnamon for flavor, I didn't take pictures of it cause I'm realizing they all look pretty similar after being blended, but it was delicious. And it kept me full all morning even after an intense hour workout with Emily.
I then had to entertain myself all night at work and enjoyed just a plan strawberry blueberry shake that wasn't quite as filling and I probably should have added a little more protein for dinner, maybe a handful of spinach or some veggies, but it was still delicious.

Today was the best by far however, and I very quickly combined a whole banana, a tbs of peanut butter, a dash of cinnamon, Vi shake, and honey and it was the most delicious shake I've ever had in my life! I literally felt like i was drinking banana bar batter!!! And this kept me so full I couldn't hardly finish my shake at lunch so I didn't force myself! But between the 2 I wasn't hungry till after I got home from work at 530, and this included 20 min of hill walking on the treadmill before a 60 minute of a low intensity yoga class.

Tomorrow is a 60 min Spin class, and I think I'm gonna try that banana shake again!!! Then it's all afternoon with the Hubs :) been a while since I've had a day off to spend with him SO excited!!

PICTURES!!

Alright guys! So now that I have a little time I can upload a few pictures!!!
I told you about our new addition Molly so I suppose you'd enjoy seeing her so here she is !
They Love each other!!
she decided a NY winter wasn't her style so we had to get her a jacket just to get her to actually go outside! so
So now that that's out of the way! I started telling you all about this new program I've started and I've decided I will keep you updated for the next 90 days on my progress!
So this morning before my morning workout I enjoyed (literally) a banana shake and a banana! Seemed like the right combination before an intense hour long Yoga Flow class! Getting to Yoga was slightly challenging however, I lost my ID but didn't realize that till I was already on the road then turned around and since I live on the Main road from the interstate to base it took me 10 min to turn around get home and realize I HAD IT THE HOLE TIME!!!

For those of you who have never tried Yoga, I'd suggest looking into it! It's a great class if you're looking to ton up and loosen up! I've been doing it 2-3 times a week for about a month now and I'm noticing great results in my upper body and my hip flexors!! It's extremely relaxing, exciting, and challenging all at once!
After that Emily challenged me to a short 2 mile run which was actually really nice! We ran just over a 9 min mile with some rather intense hills after 60 min of A LOT of lunges!
After workout I met Cory at wal mart to invest in a Blender!! which I used immediately after we got home to create this delicious shake!
Looks kind of gross but it was soo good!!! I tried sharing it with Cory but he decided his Potato soup and crackers sounded better for lunch!

This ugly creation is a carrot cake smoothie consiting of:
carrots, cream cheese, ice, 2 scoops of the visalus powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon with a little spinach to re fuel!!! It was soo good!!!

Now time for homework before an aweful night of working the night shift!!! Have a great day!

Re- Start

Alright guys here we go again! So clearly I failed miserably at blogging before but we are going to try one more time :) As many of you know Cory made it home FINALLY! and we are LOVING being together. Good by old stinky futon hello BIG COMFY COUCH!! and we've also adopted a new dog who had already made herself very at home and completed or little family :) and we love her !
Also he has decided to help me begin a life changing program, I have a friend who started this program Body by Visalus so with a little help from Cory I've decided to try so because of that I have decided to track my program with you guys!! Mid Week Craziness!!

Hey guys!!
So nothing overly exciting has happened this week, but I got some more good news about Australia my scholarship was FINALLY approved meaning I only have another 1,500 to pay!! Whoohoo!! who can beat a 3 week trip to Australia for $2,000!!! And I applied for my passport today, which might I add was a very obnoxious project, but it is done and not only did i get my passport I also go my passport card.
Education time: for those of you who don't know the difference, passports are currently running $110 and you have to have those if you are planing on flying to another country. Passport cards are running roughly $30 and are more convenient for those of you who are just wanting to drive across the boarder to Canada or Mexico, SOOO for those of you planing on visiting us in New York I would recommend getting a passport card especially if you're going to drive and want to see Niagra falls from the Canada side!!

Anyways: So this little man is feelin in the dumps lately :( he went to the vet 2 weeks ago for his heart- gaurd test, and they told me it was possible he had allergies but today we had to go back for more shots (lepto and lyme disease) so I had the actual vet take a look at his eyes again and it turns out he might have curled in eye lids, causing his eye lashes to rub on his eyes. This could be because of allergies still but it could also be something he was born with which will require pinning surgery to make his eyes normal again :( He is on a series of medications for the next couple months just to see if it is allergies, 2 forms of a tear stain remover and benedryl twice a day which results in this ... poor sleepy puppy :(

So back to my weight loss/in shape goal for when Cory comes home, this week I have lost 2 pounds and kept it off all week! Not much but it is a start whoohoo!! And accomplished a personal best of 4 miles on a tread mill in 43 minutes!!! And am SERIOUSLY considering signing up for a half marathon with Emily this September!! I mean I am doing what many find impossible and spending a year without my husband while he is in another country the least I can do is run 13.1 miles in honor of him!! Sooo input should i do it?!?!
With that being said I leave you with these pictures for excitement!!

whoo officially OVER half done!!!
4 miles 43 minutes!!! Personal best soo pumped!!!

Lonng Week!!

Hey Guys!
Soo not much of anything has happened the last few weeks but I figured Id check in just for fun!! I only have one week of school left then finals week!! THEN SUMMMER!! although the weather is not cooperating, ughh!!
Haven't talked to Cory to much this last week, he's been switched to night shift this week which means we work and sleep at the same time now, which normally would be a good thing but in the situation it stinks and I miss him a lot :( and apparently working nights means he get part time to play video games, COD to be exact and I'm praying he doesn't come back a gamer or I may lose my mind lol!!
Had a vet. appointment last week, and on the plus side Martin is Heartworm free (not surprising but made me happy !!) On the downside, I learned he has seasonal allergies which is the cause of the extreme goop in his eyes causing the ever so annoying and ugly brown eyes that no one likes to see one a white dog... we think it happened from being in the grove so much on the farm so he is now on 2 different OTC meds to help fix it, but if it isn't cleared up by July it could mean surgery to unclog his tear ducts. So for those of you with dogs that have excessive long term tear stains, please know it could be causing uncomfortable presser in there eyes and causing them to have those gross tear stains get it checked out!!!
Anyways I'll stop bothering you for now!! Hope you all have a great Easter!!

GOOD news Monday!!!

Hey Guys
So this weekend has been pretty uneventful ... until today at least!! Today was probably my last day off for a while so i decided i really needed to get some things done. So I drug myself out of bed pretty early to run with martin and it was Beautiful out a nice 2 mile run bright and early always is a good start to my day :) After that I decided to email the lady that is in charge of the study abroad program since its getting closer and closer to July and I just couldn't handle not having an answer anymore! And even though I expected her to tell me no decisions have been made yet, she surprised to with a response only minutes after telling me I WAS APPROVED! And I will be headed to Australia July 14 only 10 days before my birthday!!! WHOOOHOOO!!
And to top that off with even more good news, last night I decided to once again look through craigslist to see if any more apartments have opened up in New York and to my surprise some had!!! I found a cute little complex only minutes from base that have openings and they will even hold one for us as soon as we put a deposit down... so anxiously this morning I waited to talk to Cory, which I wasn't sure was going to happen... BUT eventually he got on too, and he loved the apartment too!! So within the next few weeks we will have an apartment waiting for us!! I am so excited!!
The rest of my day was pretty uneventful... cleaned and unpacked my room (finally), gave Martin a must needed bath, He still kind of smelled like the farm lol! Paid some bills, mailed a package to Cory, and took Martin to get some blood drawn (he was less than thrilled to get a bath and shots in the same day lol) and washed and vacuumed the car!! Hope you guys all have a great Monday and a good rest of the week!
